When the new Director of Marketing at Tea Collection reviewed their Google Affiliate Network (GAN) affiliate program, he discovered that the majority of sales were coming from trademark bidders and low quality coupon sites. Founded in 2007, the company quickly took off selling their wall decor wholesale to retailers like Target, Kohl's, and Bed Bath & Beyond. Hoping to leverage their success in the wholesale space, Lot 26 Studio launched a direct to consumer website, but needed assistance with customer acquisition and direct marketing strategy. Our work has resulted in a 5-6% monthly growth rate in visits from organic search. Mercedes Benz of Westwood was also spared from Google's February 2011 "Farmer" update which targeted sites with repetitive content. This update affected the majority of dealerships who rely on template driven platforms as these platforms provide the same content to each dealership. We teamed up with the marketing team at Susan Fredman to analyze their two online destinations, Susan Fredman Design and Susan Fredman at Home, to create one cohesive strategy for utilizing SEO, reworking the navigational hierarchy, improving the visual appeal and integrating the design site and online store, while keeping separate domains. After months of strategizing and wireframing, we came up with a architectural plan that capitalized on their photographs and design aesthetics, while also focusing on targeted content for specific SEO friendly words that we found through keyword research. In addition, we reduced the number of steps that a users takes in order to make a purchase on the retail site, which should improve the overall conversion rate.
